Thoughtfully and artfully directed by renowned intimate portrait photographer Kara Marie Trombetta, studio sessions take place in a comfortable and empowering environment that merges refined photographic artistry with the approachability of hanging out with a dear friend.
Clients from all over the world and all walks of life have commissioned this experience to deepen their relationships with themselves, to document their current chapter, or to celebrate milestones. While the uplifting shoot day is transformative on its own, the finished fine art print collection is one that will be forever treasured.
Studio shoots blossom organically over the commissioned time, with priority on getting to know each other better, collaborate, create, and reset as needed. Images captured will range from soulful personality portraits to artful figure details and powerful compositions, all in Kara Marie's iconic black and white minimalism.

"There is nothing more powerful than a woman who cannot be defined; who says you can't be both sunshine and cyanide?" These images show both the soft and hard sides of me. I would never in a million years see myself the way Kara's lens captured me and that is why I wanted to do this photo shoot for myself.
I started a journey nearly 4 years ago to reinvent myself for myself. This shoot with Kara was to solidify the success of that journey and a reminder to keep going. We all have different chapters of our lives where we are built up and torn down, only to come back stronger for it. Studio shoots are held in client’s choice of Milan Italy, Como Italy, or Austin TX USA (limited availability). Kara Marie uses beautiful private host studios in all three destinations to allow flexibility for clients located around the world. If you are interested in booking a studio collection elsewhere in the world, please inquire as travel opportunities are accepted multiple times per year.

To reserve a studio collection shoot and secure your date, a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is required. Payments are accepted via Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. The remaining 50% balance will be due at the time of your photo session.

Each studio collection client will receive a detailed client prep guide to help get in the right headspace for your session. There’s very little tangible preparation required beyond getting a good night’s sleep and having some quiet time before your session. You are a masterpiece as you are.

If you will be wearing wardrobe for your shoot, you’ll want to bring that. Think simply. No need for glamorous wardrobe or buying anything new. The studio will provide draping fabrics and sheer fabrics to stylize nude sets, as well as a robe for in-between sets.

It is encouraged to arrive to your session as your most familiar self, having your skin, hair, body hair, and makeup the way you prefer to be photographed. In efforts to ensure that our clients feel most like themselves and to support the message of not needing a makeover transformation in order to be photo worthy, we do not provide hair and makeup services.

For The Masterpiece Curation, you can expect to be at the studio for between 3-4 hours. This collection is slow-paced and comfortable, allowing plenty of time for get-to-know-you conversation, set changes, and snack breaks as needed. We recommend clients block out the day for this experience to not feel rushed or anxious.
The Muse Curation will have you at the studio for between 1.5 and 2 hours.
The Petite Curation is Kara Marie's bite-sized offering, and clients can expect to be at the studio for just over 1 hour.

For both the Masterpiece and Muse curations, a remote viewing experience will be offered to theatrically review and select images together approximately 2-3 weeks after the photo shoot date.
For the Petite Curation, your first experience with your images will be in print when your storybook is delivered to you. Upon receipt of your printed art, your matching web resolution files will be digitally delivered to you for personal use. The total turnaround time is roughly 4 weeks for the arrival of the Italian storybook shipment from Italy.

Based on ethical and artistic preferences, Kara Marie’s standard natural retouching process, only temporary blemishes such as acne, scrapes, and bruises will be removed. The image enhancement process involves contrast, exposure, cropping and background clean-up, as well as expert black and white conversions. Should you have any specific requests or questions, these conversations are always welcomed and encouraged.

Only the finest craftsmanship will do. Kara Marie partners with a fine art lab in Dolomites of Italy, using the best photographic papers, woods, and Italian leather. Albums and wall art typically have a 3-4 week turnraround time and will ship from Italy with express 72 hour shipping.

Yes, you can absolutely bring 1 friend along with you to your photo shoot experience. We will ask that friends not interfere with the shoot process , but are always welcome to be encouraging from the sidelines and be a good support in celebrating you.
We do ask that romantic partners not be present for studio shoots, as clients can subconsciously altar their expressions/body language/personalities according to what pleases their partner rather than themselves.
